Dec 01 - 05 Daytrading Results

Mon: Major pairs (-55 pips) & 100-pip trading (+52 pips)
Tue - Fri: No Trade

It was a quiet trading week as we kept our neutral stance on the major pairs for most of week. We still have about two and a half trading weeks left before the year ends. The system did so well for most of this year and let's hope my daytrading results can end on a higher note.

FAPTURBO Review - A Much Improved FAP Version?!

(First posted on ScoutForex site)

Forget the previous disappointment of Forex Autopilot (FAP). Because the new FAP Turbo package has seriously outperformed FAP over the same time period.

Please check out these claims by the developer (Steve Carletti) first.
Trading System Description:
Trading system of FAPTurbo expert-advisor is 100% automatic. Its new features include Automatic Risk Scaling, High-Spread Protection System and Build-in Loss Prevention. The system is capable of handling multiple currencies and promises low drawdowns. It can make up to 10 - 20 trades weekly, providing a high trading activity for your account.

BackTest on History:
Great results in 1999-2008: 5000% of profit in 9 years! Made 499,785 from 10,000 usd!

LiveTest on Real Money Accounts (Live proofs available):
Account 1: $370 turning into $3,100 in 1 short month
Account 2: $2,500 turning into $6,700 in 32 days
Account 3: $10,000 turning into $32,900 in 90 days

What I also like about the FAP Turbo is that you can even have your system installed on its provided 24/7 running server. This way, you will not need to have your own computer turned on ever.

All in all, the FAP Turbo system looks genuine and has already promised us much. Talk is cheap and I do hope this trading robot can continue to build on its reputation. We shall review its live trading outcomes soon on this site.

Update (1):
I can reveal that the FAPTURBO system consists of two trading strategies. One being the Short-term Scalper Strategy which can work on 4 pairs: EUR/GBP, GBP/CHF, EUR/CHF and USD/CAD on M15 (15-minute) timeframe. The other being Long-term FAP Strategy which has been optimised for the EUR/USD pair on M1 (1 minute) timeframe.

Finding Your Trading Edge In Different Market Conditions

Friday US Session
No. of signal recommendations: 1
Major pairs results: EUR/USD (+10 pips)

During this volatile time, it's important to stay on track no matter what. It's all about capital preservation and reducing risks during tough market conditions. It's important to honour stop-loss levels and there is no reason to fight the markets without a proper trading plan.

There is something extraordinary about this market. At present, the forex markets are greatly affected by the performance of stock makets. The latest dip in the US markets has significantly changed the daily normal operation of the forex markets, especially during the month of November.

All daytrading systems are facing a uphill battle due to the current situations. Nonetheless, my major-pair system still ended breakeven for the week, and +260 pips for the month.

Patiently Waiting for the Right Setup Thursday

I've just received another testimonial from one of my DTS subscribers. I will share it here.
From Cuulmusic:

I would like to thank you for your effort and service, which has been good, particularly not feeling pressured to send out signals, if you felt there were no good opportunities available.
Basically, I was just following my forex trading routine. For the last two weeks, the markets are heavily driven in one-way direction to multi-year highs/lows and there are hardly any significant pullbacks. When the situation improves, I believe my "automated" system will be there to capture the right moves.

System Rebounded Strongly and Fetched Over 500 pips at One Point Thursday

Although a win is a win, I could still see the market mistiming issue, likely caused by the recent clock change. I expect trading to return back to normality in the new week when US trading hours revert back to usual. Anyway, at one point during this live session, the range of gains up for grab in today's "fast" markets was between 50 - 500 pips !

All major pairs results: -180 pips
All yen-crosses results: -70 pips

US Session
No. of signal recommendations: 5
All major pairs results: -140 pips
All yen-crosses results: -210 pips

Due to recent clock change, the US session had been scheduled to start one hour late than the normal system operational time this week. Unexpectedly, this caused some problems for the End-of-Session system today. As the forex market was heavily influenced by the US stock markets these days (this October 08), the system couldn't shrug off some "false" forex killer signals. Moreover, the technical bias was expected to shift tonight.

I don't think the system can come back to be positive for the month after today's results. This is probably the end of a nine consecutive month winning streak. Quite a symbolic result for the major-pairs system. Our trading session will revert back to normal hours next week after US clock change this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the system copes in the next two days.

This Week Results & Back to Normality Next Week?

Monday:
Major pairs +110 pips; Yen-crosses +230 pips; 100-pip signals +500 pips & 100-pip ea : +163 pips

Tue - Fri: no trade

Despite having the right technical bias the whole week, the forex-killer entry system was not able to generate more signals after Monday. We might have given up some golden trading opportunities, but we did not lose during this volatile week.

I expect our trading returning to the normality, i.e. more active trading next week.

It could even be a brighter day if the 100-pip ea was not stopped out at -60 pips by some volatile ticks in the GBP/JPY market. It just missed out by 4 pips. A SL of 65 should have made a nice gain instead.

Fortunately, the system pulled in another two positive 100-pip trades in the later session. With some other manual trades, I managed a gain of 4.9%. today compared to yesterday's 22% gain.

Coordinated Rate Cuts & Coping Well Wednesday

I had not experienced anything like this before. It was extremely tough for the system to make money when the market swings were huge. Basically, the markets were in oscillating mode while traders digesting the implication of coordinated rate-cuts by the central banks.

The major-pairs results for this month have been reduced to almost zero. And I am still hanging on with gains from the yen-crosses pairs which are about +250 pips. Meanwhile, the results for 100-pip system were mixed for today after enjoying some good results yesterday.

Price Volatility + Tight Stops = Bad Trade Monday

Late Session
No. of signal recommendations: 1
End-of-session results:
Crosses: GBP/JPY (+155 pips !)

Unfortunately, I had my first trade of the week with the EA. It was an exact opposite of what we had last week.
My own EA trade entry level was poor this time round, and was affected by the sheer price volatility seen in today's action. I blamed the latest financial turmoils . There was a big price difference between the manual entry level and the EA setup. As a result, those who entered at the start of the trading session got a good paid off.

These results would definitely put me on guard in the coming days. Perhaps this would help too - Losing trades and how to cope - I will consider to lower my risk limit to a low 1- 2.5% per trade for now.

We positioned ourselves well and made some really good efforts this morning. Unfortunately, I can confirm to you that the EA hadn't enter any position. It was quite a close call with the GBP/USD, give or take 2-3 pips, else we would be sitting with profits right now...

Update: Apparently, some did make profits with the GBP/USD setup on the InterbankFX. Nice one...

No Trade and Patiently Waiting Friday

Friday
No trade

The 100-pip system performance has been updated. Btw, it was an abnormal trading week where we had overextended price reactions in many of the major markets. The unwinding of the carry trades also intensified to a scale that I've not experienced in a very long time.

Fortunately, we successfully avoided being caught out by this market behaviour and the system was pretty safe in this kind of trading environment.

I hope the market will get back to its normal trading mode next week. Note that we follow a very stringent trading plan with a fixed daily trade entry routine at all time.

Same routine, same system, even 10 markets were being monitored, but still no right setup for the 100-pip EA trading program. Obviously, it doesn't like these volatile market conditions. Hence, I am patiently waiting again...

On the other hand, I did make some news trades today.

Carry Trade Unwinding and Sterling Pound Meltdown Monday

Monday
No trade

Despite a US holiday, I continued to work on the currency markets. The system found no trading setup today and remained on the sideline. Sometimes, there could be five signals a day, there could be none - this is how my system works ! I just laugh at it sometimes, as I have to take a relaxed approach and being discipline.

All major positions have been squared at the end of US trading session, giving us +140 pips profit for this Wednesday. My trading sessions are so far up +700 pips for the month ?!

Results are even brighter with the 100-pip ea program. My "auto-entry" GBP/USD trade managed to hit the maximum target of 100-pip in less than 2 hours after position opening today! You guys should be able to pick that up too. The ea trading program is currently available to Scoutforex gold-service subscribers.

It is an extraordinary time for the forex market. No matter how, I believe we should always take things calmly and practise our trading routine consistently.

Another easy ride with the the only GPB/JPY trade setup this morning. I was really happy with my progress this week. Furthermore I had also received many of your complimentary responses.

BTW, if you fail to make money with the system at present or in future, I'm happy to diagnose your trading situations, at my free will. No extra fees will be charged ;)

The reason I brought this up is because I had some close contacts with my joining members recently. And I found out that some of you were not executing my trade alerts properly. Some even tried to setup many trades based on yourself, and some had no patience with the open trades.

The best way to experiment my system is to run my ea program with the provided alerts. If you are not ready yet, simply run it in a demo account. The objectives are to familiarise yourself with my daytrading program and try to match the system benchmark performance. It should be alright if you could only follow the system 70%. If you could do better than me, I am also happy to hear that too...

"No-Surprise" US Payrolls Data Friday

Friday
No Trade

The payrolls data was uninspiring. Today was merely a price continuation day following yesterday's strong reaction to the news releases. We still remained bullish on both the dollar and yen. Meanwhile, the open trade from yesterday is currently sitting with profit as a result of overnight sell-off in the yen-crosses market.

Here comes August. We'll start again next week.

Have a nice weekend.

Patiently Waiting and Potential Trend Change Monday

Monday
No Trade

The US dollar was weakening in today's market action. Based on our latest technical bias, we'll be positioning ourselves to get into long US dollar positions this week.

Another trend score from Smart Scan Chart Analysis also confirms that positive longer term is weakening for EUR/USD. The market action could signal the start of a major trend change. Hence a weak uptrend. See the statistics below:

Based on a pre-defined weighted trend formula for chart analysis, EURUSD scored +65 on a scale from -100 (strong downtrend) to +100 (strong uptrend):

Profits vs. Drawdowns for Forex Autopilot, Bogie and Tracer EAs

We still have four trading days left for the month of July. For my record, it's going to be another profitable month for both my Forex Autopilot and Bogie expert advisor trading. I'll be reviewing their individual performance again at the end of the month.

Here is my last month's review
(first posted on my main site):

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In general, June was a very good month for trading. There were a a lot of sizable moves intraday and overnight reactions which stirred up the forex markets. Euro (EUR/USD) was the most interesting pair to watch since it recorded its historical high back in late April. Since then, it has entered into a consolidation phase.

I have three expert advisors which all auto-trade the same EUR/USD market, i.e. Forex Autopilot (FAPS), Forex Tracer and Bogie but on different time periods. I will show you how they all fair in the month of June. For comparison, all three were assigned with with same account level at the start of the month. Initial deposit: $1000; Fixed lot size: 0.1 lot. Here are their end results:

1st place: Bogie-NN-v8 end balance $2434 (143.4%) Approx. +1434 pips
2nd place: FAPS end-balance $1169 (+16.9%) Approx. +169 pips
3rd place: Tracer end balance $903 (-9.7%) Approx. -97 pips

EA Performance (Jun' 08)
Bogie
Tracer
FAPS
Time period
H1
M30
M1
Stop loss used
200
250
---
Absolute drawdown (% from initial deposit)
-3.6
-24.9
-28.7
Maximal drawdown (in term of pips)<100>250
>500
Final profits (in term of pips)
+1434
-91
+169

Final remarks:

1) Compared to previous month results, FAPS was slightly underperformed this month, but its overall results since the start of the year were impressive. June was the fifth profitable month of this year.

2) Bogie-NN-v8 had a very strong month in June as it outperformed others during this market phase. At many occasions, it did superbly by selling at the tops and buying at the lows.

3) Tracer was recently launched. Unlike FAPS, it uses a fixed stop loss level of 250 pips, thus giving you the comfort of knowing its risk limit. Unfortunately, June was a volatile month which in turn resulted the EA to hit the bump twice. Despite all that, Tracer EA showed great resilience and nearly made it back to the positive.

I am not sure what July will bring, but i have high hopes on three of them. If the current trend continues, Bogie is the one to look out for. If the Euro continues to gain momentum towards the upside, FAPS and Tracer should be back to exhibiting their real strengths.

Missed Opportunities and Price Reversal with Yen-Crosses Pairs Friday

Friday
No trade

I've been picking up a lot of long signals in the yen-crosses markets lately with the fk software. Looking at the market movements today and the possible trade setups this morning, I was really sorry to say that we'd just missed some golden opportunities to score a few hundred pips for the 100-pip system, as the yen-crosses pairs rebounded with the price reversal pattern.

It happened on the day after our techincal bias was switched to the neutral stance, given a score of (44 -56). If we'd stayed a day longer, we'd be in the money.

Amyway, looking forward to next week trading.

This Week (14 - 18 July) Performance Overview

A brief recap on the major pair results:

Monday No Trade
Tuesday No Trade
Wednesday +25 pips
Thursday +70 pips
Friday No Trade

We're up +95 pips for the week, and only +115 pips for the month on the major pairs with the main trading system.

July has been a tough month for trading due to recent financial chaos caused by the possible demise of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I believe the financial and oil market situations will continue to set the tone for the forex markets for the rest of this month.

My advise is to trade the conservative major pairs and avoid volatile yen-crosses pairs during this period of financial instability. Always book easy profits and never let winners turning into losers. Choppy market conditions are set to continue.

There are still two weeks of trading left in this month. I would very much like to see July to be the sixth consecutive profitable month since the launch back in February.

Profitable Start with the Majors and Choppy Markets Thursday

European Session
No. of signal recommendations : 4
End-of-session results: GBP/USD (+50 pips), EUR/USD (+25 pips), USD/CHF (0 pip) and USD/JPY (-5 pips)
Max potential: Over 110 pips !

End-of-session results: +70 pips for the majors today.

For the 100-pip system, choppy market conditions caused many of the dynamic stops to be triggered. In general, I use 2 x risk profit target. Despite a great start, trading conditions have evolved from pretty straightforward to downright non-tradable later in the day.

The system continues to do well with the EUR/USD trades. Today, I had only one conservative, breakeven trade setup with the euro which gave me 40-pip profit almost instantly.

An action-packed day from the start of the Asian session, with the Euro rallied to a record high in London Session. There was no automated trade setup with the major pairs today.

We had only one 100-pip trade setup on one of the yen-crosses signals. I purposely missed out the rest due to the unimproved trade entry condition. It was the right decision as the yen-crosses were heavily sold-off later in the day.

Waiting for Action Monday

Monday
No Trade

Despite the initial pullback, Euro, Sterling and other non-US currencies continued with their previous day trends to rally against the dollar in the later sessions. We made the right bias today but were not involved in today's action.

On the other note, we just missed out on the GBP/JPY trade by a few pips as the market indeed moved towards the projected the 100-pip level. Nonetheless, it was a risk-free breakeven trade for the set TPs = 80 and 100. Profits were secured if using lower TP targets of 40 and 60 pips .

Dollar Slumps and Late Winner Friday

European Session
No. of signal recommendations: 1
End-of-session results: AUD/USD (-20 pips)

The markets finally woke up after a long sleep. Today, we saw the US dollar index sank to the lowest level since 23 April. Unfortunately this time round, the "system" failed to spot those extraordinary trading opportunities in the US dollar markets.

US Session

End-of-session results: EUR/JPY (-15 pips)

Well, everything was quiet on the economic front, but soon after Paulson comments, the dollar slipped. We were not involved in the US dollar markets today but had some tough time dealing with the choppy conditions as seen in the yen-crosses pairs.

Many of the markets are currently moving in the sideways direction. The sideways actions gave us some fast pips this week. And this trend may continue further. It is best to lock in profits while ahead.

Max potential: Over 100 pips !

We resumed trading after a brief holiday pause. Not a bad start today - the first two signals of the week immediately produced over 100 pips during the early session before the midday price reversal. Unfortunate for the 100-pip system, GBP/USD was stopped at b/e, while USD/CAD was a loser today after recording two consecutive 100-pip gains back on 27 June and 2 July.

Btw, last month June trading report is ready for viewing.
